Complaints [Sep. 25th, 2005|11:48 am]
[Current Mood | frustrated]

I haven't done this in ages...But I really need to vent right now, so here I go.

TEACHERS ARE SO STUPID!!!!!!! I swear, it's like they don't ever talk to each other, and they just keep piling you with homework. It's like we don't have lives outside of school. And we sit at home with nothing to do, so they need to give us homework to keep us busy. I have so much to do this weekend, and it's Sunday and I'm still not done. Each of our teachers gave us like 2 assignments.

We have to write a lab report for this stupid science experiment that we did in class, finish a french reading comprehension assignment and definitions for this story called Térésa, do a Book Talk for a french book, find a quote on Responsibility, do math questions on Adding Integers pages 360, 370-371, finish a dumb art business card, do a sketch of leaves, colour a Colour Wheel with primary, secondary and tertiary colours and finish this dumb essay on 'My Athletic Goals for the Year'.

And we pretty much have to do all of it this weekend!!!

And on top of that, I'm running for Student Council President, and I still have to write out my speech and memorize it for Wednesday! And I have no clue what I'm gonna put in this speech... Does anyone have any ideas? Plus I gotta make more posters, and all that good stuff for my campaign. And oh yeah, did I mention that they gave us less than a week for our campaigns? I mean seriously. My sister and I were up until 2 in the morning trying to finish posters and then we had to wake up early to get to school early to put them all up!

And then, when I finish all that, I still have to practise piano. I haven't gone near that thing all week because of the campaign, so when I show up at my lesson tomorrow, I'm not gonna know how to play a single thing...

Okay...I'm done. It may not seem like much, but getting all of this stuff done in 2 days is not easy. And if anyone has any ideas for the speech, please, please, please tell me.

My March Break [Mar. 20th, 2005|03:34 pm]
[Current Mood | tired]
[Currently Listening To |Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C]

Last day of March Break...

Anyhoosies, my March Break has been the most tiring and exhausting thing in the whole wide world. See, I took my Bronze Cross (which is basically the second last course before you become a lifeguard) during the MB so that I couldget it over with in 5 days instead of once a week for 10 weeks. But in order to take the course, you have to be 14. So, my mother had to get special permission for me to take it, since I'm not 14 yet. And because you had to be 14, I was the smallest and youngest person there.

So, on the letter that they sent us, it said that the course was from 8 am to 11:30. So we go there on Monday, and Nick, our instructor, tells us, "No, your lunch is at 11:30. The course ends at 4:30." So, we were there from 8 am to 4:30 pm, every single day. That's longer than my school day!! And it was so tiring. Especially for me 'cause I had to lift people who are twice my size out of the pool, carry them across the pool and everything. But it was kinda fun, 'cause Nick was funnie, and I had my 14-year-old brother there to help me. And we made friends with these two guys who were reallie nice.

So, I scored a 92% on my written exam (you needed a 75% to pass), and I did okay on the rest of my assessments (adult, infant and child CPR, adult, infant and child AR, adult, infant and child choking, spinal roll overs, treatment for bleeding, heart attacks, angina, strokes, seizures, anaphylaxis, broken ribs, flail chest, pneumothorax, athsma, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, frost bites, hypothermia, shock, hyperventilation, submerged victims, removals, vitals check, secondary assessments...etc.) Yeah...we needed to know all of the signs and symptoms for each of them, the treatment and definitions.

Luckily, I passed. That means I have 4 years until I can take my NLS 'cause you gotta be 16 to take the course. So Nick told me that I need to join the Junior Lifeguarding Club. On top of that, I have swim practices starting next week. So that's 2 practices a week.

Oh, and my little sister had a birthday partie yesterday with all of her friends and our family. So I had to help clean our (extremely messy) house, cook dinner and entertain her friends while watching 4 little kids and babies. I went to sleep at 1, and my parents got to bed at 4. Then I had to wake up at 9 this morning to make breakfast for my sister's friends, 'cause they slept over.

So basically, it's been a very tiring week. And tomorrow we have school too. I have homework to finish...*sigh*, life is difficult sometimes.

March Break [Mar. 12th, 2005|01:38 pm]
[Current Mood | annoyed]
[Currently Listening To |Lucky Day by Kalan Porter]

Wow...I haven't done this for a long, long time.

Anyhoosies, it's March Break now! Yipee! No school, tennis lessons or piano lessons for a whole week! Of course, my dumb art teacher decided that it'd be fun to give us homework. Ugh, who gets homework for Art anyway?! It's supposed to be a fun subject, jeez...

Anyway, on Thursday, our school had its annual Jump Rope For Heart event. Thursday was the grade 6's turn. As a member of the Athletic Council, I had to help out, and I got to serve them their oranges and bananas... But about 15 minutes into the event, the fire alarm goes off. It was absolute chaos. And this one girl started to cry. Cry! And you could tell that it was just an act. She was like clinging onto my arm as I led them outside and was crying. It was so annoying. But they were all wearing shorts and t-shirts and it was freezing outside with snow and ice and the whole bit. And we were out there for a whole 20 minutes before we were let back in. So we went back in and after about 3 minutes, the alarm goes off again. So we gotta go back outside in the freezing cold. And then when we're finallie let back in, we're told that it was some stupid kid(s) who pulled the alarm. Twice in a row! And because the fire trucks had to come, we're being fined about 2 000 dollars for each time.

And now, we're not allowed to do anything without a teacher 'cause they don't want any students by themselves in case they pull the alarm again. So our teachers need to escort us to our next classes. And if we need to go to the bathroom, our teacher needs to call the office and we have to wait for someone to come in order to take us to the bathroom. ARGH, we can't do anything by ourselves anymore!

Yea, so that's my complaining for today. It's a good thing I'm away from school and stupid escorts for a whole week! And after that, we get report cards. But I'm scared of that...I think my average dropped...

Not a very good day... [Dec. 13th, 2004|05:44 pm]
[Current Mood | sleepy]

Hey! I'm reallie quite bad at updating this regularly. So, I'm just gonna update when something important happens...

Anyway, yesterday this house was colder than cold. It was FREEZING!!! You see, the furnace (that we fixed last winter), wasn't working. So, it was 10 degrees in my house! Soooo cold. Anyway, I spent about 5 hours in the family room watching TV and reading this reallie good book, because it was the only room that was room temperature, as it had a fire going, and 3 heaters. lol Then at night, my sister and I slept in my room with one heater, my broter in his room with another heater and my parents in the family room with the fire and the other heater.

So, today I was very forgetful at the beginning of the day. First, I forgot my homework folder, and my mother had to drive to the bus stop to give it to me. She was NOT very pleased. And then, on the bus, I realized that I didn't have my glasses. And then I got to school and whn I was at my locker, Irealized that I didn't have my pencil case. And then in french class, I realized that I had forgotten to bring my french duotang. And I also forgot my english book. Wow, I was not very good today. lol

Yeah, so then, because I'm secratary of the student council, and I'm on the exacutive council, I had to help sort and pack up the food for the SA Food Drive. And after about and hour or so, I began to feel really, really dizzy. And that developed into a head ache, and I felt like I was going to throw up. So, eventually, I did throw up, and my dad came to get me. Then I went home, and slept from 11:30 to 3:45. Yuppers. And, while I was sleeping, thank goodness, the guy came and fixed the furnace. =D That's really good, seeing as tonight is supposed to be -20 degrees.

Yeah, so today has not been a very good day for me...

I'm gonna go to bed soon. I'm soo tired (even after those 4 hours of sleep).

My Element is Air [Dec. 5th, 2004|11:45 am]
[Current Mood | Bored]

Air
Air. You think before you act, you look before you
leap. You are very direct, which sometimes can
hurt others. You are always looking for the
truth behind things. Of all the elements,
you're the wisest.

My element is water! [Dec. 5th, 2004|11:29 am]
[Current Mood | bored]
[Currently Listening To |Papa Don't Preach by Madonna]

Water
Your element is Water: Understanding, intelligent,
quiet and calm. You know who you are and no one
can change that. Usually quiet but only because
your listening, don't let anyone think you
haven't got an opinion! Your not quiet because
your shy or sad, your usually quiet because
your thinking. Your answers are well planned
and helpful so people generally seek your
advice. Your the perfect balance between
solitary and outgoing. But sometimes you need a
little time to yourself to sort out your
emotions and figure things out. You understand
the phrase 'sticks and stone' and rarely let
things get to you, whats that important for you
to have to get so upset over? You know what you
want out of life but are simply taking your
time and enjoying things. To you your life is
fine as it is, you can always change things
later if your not happy.

Wow, it's no wonder that my element was always water when my sister, brother, cousin and I played 'The Jeweled Palace'

I'm A Sprite of Water [Dec. 5th, 2004|11:19 am]
[Current Mood | okay]
[Currently Listening To |The First Cut Is The Deepest]

Water Sprite
Mysterious, elegant, creative and calm
You are a sprite of the Water. Creative and one of
the most beautiful of sprites, you strike
wonder and curiosity into the hearts and minds
of all. Even though you are capable of
attraction and seduction you are way above all
that, you understand the true meaning of life
and are very open and understanding of life's
mysteries, most likely you are one of them. You
are respectful of all ways of life and do not
judge one due to their position or station in
life. You are gifted in the ways of
understanding and given the chance are usually
full of good, wise advice but your not the type
to take the stand and express such things. Your
laid back nature can be troubling, you don't
take many risks and prefer to keep things as
they are. You are one of the most unique of
sprites.

P.D. Day! [Dec. 3rd, 2004|07:32 pm]
[Current Mood | cheerful]
[Currently Listening To |Gotta Get Away (again...It's stuck in my head)]

Yeah! Today was P.D. Day! For those of you who don't know, P.D. Day stands for Professional Development Day (Well, that's what I call it. Don't know what it stands for if you call it P.A. Day). And, on P.D. Days, students don't have to go to school! YAY!! So, since my brother's in high school, he doesn't have P.D. Days. So, my sister and I hung out with my parents all day. We went shopping, look at houses and cars (we reallie need a mini van), and then we were off to swim practice.

Swimming was fun today. We did some sort of drill where we swam one length of free, hopped out, did 5 push-ups or 5 sit-ups, dove back into the water, swam one length of back crawl, then did 5 sumorsaults (spelling?) in the water. ^_^ It was funsies.

Volleyball [Dec. 1st, 2004|07:18 pm]
[Current Mood | disappointed]
[Currently Listening To |Gotta Get Away]

There's something I forgot to put on the entry that I posted a couple of hours ago. Our volleyball team in our school league was in 1st place after the prelims. So, today was the semi-final game and we were facing the 4th place team. The other game was the 2nd place team (who was reallie, reallie good) and the 3rd place team. Well, we won the first game 15-6, then lost the second game 15-12. >=[ So, then we ended up losing the last game 15-13. ARGH, we were so mad (we're all reallie sore losers). And the stupidest thing is that we've beaten the team before! But even more surprisingly is that the 2nd place team also lost, and our team and their team were favoured to win and play in the finals. What a turn of events.

Well, bottom line, we lost, and I sucked big time. I was so bad, it's official, I CANNOT play volleyball. I reallie didn't belong on our team. Everyone's so good. :[

Stupid Librarian [Dec. 1st, 2004|05:24 pm]
[Current Mood | infuriated]
[Currently Listening To |Gotta Get Away]

Hey!

Okies, you know how I said before that I got highest in certain subjects last friday? Well, we take pictures of all the students who got highest in their class in any subjects. Okay, we have this one teacher who takes the pictures every year, and knows exactly how to do it, and she does it extremely well. So, she didn't do them today. You know who did? Our freakin' stupid librarian.

He's new this year, and he's such a freakin' jerk! The goddess above, he's so rude, so stupid, and doesn't know anything. First, he makes an announcement that's completely wrong, and we told him what he was supposed to say, and what does he do? He says that freakin' same exact thing all over again. >=[ And then, he's supposed to do the pictures in the front foyer like we do every single year, every single term. What does he do? "We should do it in the library" ARGH! What and idiot! And then he makes me and my two friends move everything in the stinkin' library, and does he help at all? No! He just stands there and says, "Do this, do that. Move this, move that. Don't push this, you have to lift it. It's scraping the floor, lift it up." AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! >=[

So, because me and my best friend are supposed to be in practically all the stinkin' pictures, we usually just stay there until all the pictures we're supposed to be in are taken, then we go back to our classes. OMG! You know what he says? "No, you can't stay here, go back to your classrooms." OMFG! So, our class was doing our history presentations for our history projects. So, every time we had to go back to the class, we had to slip in, sit down, basically disturb whoever was presenting, then wait about a total of 2 seconds for the announcement, then go back out to the library. AAAAAAAAAAAARGH! He's so stupid!!!

Report Cards [Nov. 29th, 2004|05:16 pm]
[Current Mood | enthralled]

Wow! Report Cards were disributed today! I was so not expecting the marks I got. They're reallie good! =D But, I'm not gonna list them all here, since it's not very nice to brag. Though I'm not bragging, I'm just reallie, reallie happy! *claps hands happily*

But, i did find out that I actually beat my friend in Math by 0.3% and in french by 0.3%. We tied in English exactly. Then, she beat me in History and Geography by 1%. And, my average was a 90.1% and hers was a 90.75%. But, I'm guessing that they felt verie sorrie for me, and decided to give it to me.

I'm sooo happy!

Academic Awards Assembly [Nov. 26th, 2004|05:03 pm]
[Current Mood | ecstatic]

Wow! Today, was the Academic Awards Assembly at my school when the give out certificates to the people who got the highest mark in each subject for each grade. Okies, so, it's kinda funny, since me and one of my very best friends were in different classes last year, and we got all the awards in our classes. To clarify, you get a tab if you get highest in a subject in your class, and a certificate if you et the highest mark in your grade. So, this year, the two of us are in the same class and technically, we're supposed to be competing to see who's smarter. Of course, we always check eachother's work and stuff, so I don't know if it's reallie competing...

Anyway, I was so shocked when I found out who got which awards. Okie, we tied in English in our class, but didn't get it in the grade. Then, we tied in Mathematics, and got highest in class and grade, and we tied in French Immersion Language Arts, got highest in class and grade.

She got History in the class, Geography in the class, and Physical Education in class and grade.

I got Science in the class and grade, and Music in class and grade.

Then, the most shocking thing of all, is that we tied for Highest Overall Average in our grade. I was reallie surprised, 'cause I thought for sure that she'd get it.

The worst part about it is that whenever either of us say something like "I'm stupid" or something, the other one gets to punch the one who said it. So, I kept on saying that she'd get all the awards as they were calling out the names and stuff, and I got punched so much, my arm still hurts! lol

Yes, so that was my exciting day. I can't wait until Monday when we get report cards and we get to see which one of us beat who and whether or not we actually had the exact same average or not. ^_^

Practice Makes Perfect [Nov. 15th, 2004|09:49 pm]
[Current Mood | disappointed]

Hehehe. Today I had piano lessons like every other monday of my life. Thing is, I really don't have a very good daily schedule, and I therefore don't practice very much ^_^. That's reallie bad, 'cause when I go to my lessons, well, let's just say that my songs aren't very perfected at all. oh well...I just really have to come up with a way to fit everything into my schedule so that I don't end up failing piano, school, or dropping out of my other stuff like Tennis, Swimming, and then there's Choir, Take Two, Student Council, Athletic Council...and the list just goes on and on and on. Which reminds me, I gotta get to bed now. Tomorrow I have to go to school early (7:30) to help out with the Grade 8 table tennis morning club and to take pictures.

Well, chow!

[Current Mood | tired]
[Currently Listening To |You're Just Another Brick In The Wall]

Hey all! Today, I went to the swim meet ar Etoicoke Olympium for Wave 2. It was really fun, excluding the fact that the pool was FREEZING. It was soo cold. But then, the showers were really hot, so I guess it was okay. I got to do 25 m of Butterfly, 50 m of Free, 50 m of Back and 50 m of Breast. It was really cool. :( But my mother is gonna take me outta the program for the winter, 'cause she says that it'd be to hard and stuff to go swimming in the winter when it's cold and snowing :( . But I do get to go back in the spring so that in the summer when I do Citi-Swim, I'll be ready.
